My hearing is pretty damn acute, I’d like to think, and my darling wife tells me I have the hearing of a dog because the sound from her Nokia charger drives me insane (I swear that there’s a little fan or something inside that makes this high pitched whining noise!) How good is your hearing, though? Test it with this tool. I passed…do you?

@fayyaad – yeah I can hear that high pitch too.
I’m actually curious to know how many people CAN’T hear it! It seems pretty darn loud and annoying to me!
@fayyaad – yeah it’s louder than I expected it to be – although the freq is high so I can understand a few “older” people won’t hear it.
How accurate is this thing? It’s pretty loud (and irritating). I have a feeling we can all hear it. What’s this test based on? Have you snoped it? (I’m too lazy to right now.)

Sounds like when someone leaves a screen on without signal. Annoying! – I’m almost 34 (Which is old in Holy Grail years)
@Joe: Did your full hearing test, but there’s a few problems with it. It’d be good to compare it roughly with the norms of people of a similar age and once you’ve done the test, you’re pretty much left hanging. I’ll see if I can find a better one.
Not sure how accurate it is, but the test *is* based on the fact that adults over 21 have trouble hearing sounds in the upper registers due to the degeneration of the audio follicles in the ears. And the damned things don’t regrow. This is how they were able to create the ringtone only teens could hear, or the anti-teen screen of sound. Some shops in the UK employed it to drive teens away. Some adults reported an uncomfortable sensation, but didn’t hear any sounds. If you want [citation needed], then I’ll happily hunt down some more info.
Wow that was WAY louder than I was expecting. I did another test when they released the “mosquito ring tone” over here. A lot like fayyaad mentioned, it was made for teens so only they could hear it. It was much harder to hear, but I could still hear it a little bit.
I guess I have been in the clubs too much lately… Or maybe it’s because I don’t go out without headphones… Am i going death???!!!
