Yea, I know it’s a day late. Had a pretty busy Friday and in the rush of things, I kinda forgot about Nostalgia Friday. So…I know that a good number of viewers from my side of the world will remember La Linea, the strange two-minute cartoon about a line drawing and his antics. The show is Italian in origin, and 88 episodes were produced starting in 1969, so it’s WELL old. The show, as you can see from the clip above, features the line man vs his animator, and the antics that follow. Back when I was a kid and this was regularly on TV, I think there was no way of telling when one of these would appear, so it was always a delight to see one pop up on the screen.
Does anyone else remember watching these?
i love this guy! thank you!
I loved this show. There was an insurance co (outsurance?) that parodied it.
@S: Glad I could bring some happy memories back! I wonder, though, if this week’s up and coming one is going to be too obscure!
@Cybadelic: really?? I’d love to see it!
I love it! They did a few episodes about condoms and played them in some cinemas during the adds. That’s how people from my generation heard about it. There are loads of episodes available on youtube!
Oh wow, thanks for the happy memories this brough back – used to love watching it as a child!
Yes – I remember! Thanks so much for posting this – it’s actually brought tears to my eyes! Reason being, it’s been decades since I last saw one of these; I never knew what it was called; and I absolutely loved these cartoons. I tried describing it to Joseph, but with no success.
(Me – “It’s a cartoon with a man that comes up out of a line, and he doesn’t say proper words, but he walks along and has adventures, and he’s grumpy, and it’s very funny.”
Joseph – “What? No, there was never such a cartoon.”)
Now he knows I wasn’t just imagining this
He’s now claiming he never said there was no such cartoon, but he can’t pin down what he did say, so I think I’ll go with my memory instead
Doopy doopy doop da doop heyheyhey!
