Were way too high. Sadness is me. I think I got spoiled with always being able to watch episodes in big chunks, three or four at a time, and without adverts. I never knew that the first episode of a season could be this disappointing.
I would actually recommend that people don’t watch this episode as soon as it comes out but rather wait a few weeks for four or five episodes to accumulate, and then watch. It will probably be much more gratifying that way. I’m honestly contemplating doing the same thing myself. I don’t think I can take all the damn adverts in the middle of everything. They even have adverts between the final scene and the credits. That is just low.
So in the interest of lowering expectations for those who have yet to see the episode, but without being too spoilery, here’s my synopsis of what to expect.

Except for shedding some light on what happened to Starbuck when she hit the hard deck and “died”, nothing exciting happens. A lot of the episode revolves around Baltar and his new purpose and circumstances and some of it is about how the final “4 of 5″ feel about being Cylons. The episode ends with a to be continued. I quite like two part episodes but not when I don’t have the second part on hand to watch right away. The promos had me so psyched for this ep but in the end half of what they showed us in the promo wasn’t even in this episode. From the sneak preview at the end of the ep, it seems all the excitement will only happen next week.
