Karma … hmm, not sure it always works as we’d like. Standing on the train platform with my brolly I noticed a person next to me without any form of protection from the rain. After debating the awkwardness I decided to share the comfort of a brolly. He seemed a bit surprised but wasted no time in diving under.
When the train turned up and we parted ways he thanked me and I gave a nod of recognition – then once seated I took out my headphones and discovered that they had broke 😦 Now, was this cause I hesitated or because I stole this brolly from Faranaaz and Sameer? Either way, why, whhhyy, I was being nice!
On this note: I watched an interesting documentary on BBC once that said that people that commute, will see the same people day in and day out but never talk to or acknowledge them with a “hello”. And if stuck in a problematic situation will rather hunt out someone they don’t recognize and ask for assistance rather than the people they see everyday. I wonder if that means that, that person will avoid me like minty freshness avoids a fart?
