Today, while looking for a video of Orlando Cabrera being “beaned” in the White Sox-Tigers ballgame today, I came across an ABC report on The Last Lecture. The “last lecture” is a traditionally a lecture given by a professor at the Carnegie Mellon University. In 2007, Professor Randy Pausch, an expert in virtual reality who discovered that he was dying of pancreatic cancer, was invited to give the lecture. The lecture ostensibly about how to achieve your childhood dreams. It is thoroughly engrossing and inspiring. Since last year, it has been downloaded over a million times and has also resulted in a book of the same title. I’m not one for Oprafied stories but this one is inspiring and truly touching. Well worth the look.
(Please note that for some reason, the video links may need to be clicked twice in order to play correctly. Full transcripts of the lecture and the full video are at the very bottom of the page.)
