Last night, the new beta version of the Dilbert site was released (Yes, I was awake after midnight, checking on Dilbert comics! Weren’t you?). The site is new, flashy, interactive, and personalizable. And Dilbert is animated 🙂 I love you, Scott Adams!
* Is this what I, as a comic fan, actually want from my favorite comic web site?
* Is this the influence of social networking sites?
* Or is this inevitable progression, with Scott Adams (correctly) identifying what his fans want?
I love the fact that viewers can change the puchline in the comic: as a regular reader of his blog site, I know that many fans have commented on plot lines and punch lines. He addressed a perceived need, and he’s open enough to give that power to his fans.
Note: I’ve found a number of bugs in the site (expected, it’s a beta version). But I am very excited about the potential here.
