Baby steps Fayyaad, baby steps! Look at cellphones, it only took them a decade or so to get them from brick-sized to palm-sized. I bet in the next century, what with global warming and the water and sanitation crisis, we’ll all be walking around in stillsuits. 😉
Actually, Faranaaz wins this round…the Gom Jabbar is indeed the poisoned needle. It’s called the “high handed enemy”, and Alia did indeed use it on her grandfather. Cybadelic, the box you’re thinking of was simply called the Pain Box.
Score: Faranaaz – 1, Cybadelic – 0
Ok, let’s get more obscure with the next question: Who or what is Choam…and what does it stand for?
C.H.O.A.M were the “company” that owned the navigation routes and the navigators, and were of the cheif users of the spice. I can’t remember offhand what it stands for, but I have a copy of Dune at home (Read it abt 1 yr ago).
@Fayyaad – oops – Now I remember, she killed Baron Harkonnen with it.
No points for any of you…although those were very close answers (with the exception of E’s–nice try, tho!)
CHOAM–Combine Honnette Ober Advancer Mercantiles–were a trading company that managed all economic businesses across the universe. Reason that your answers were close and not on target: they didn’t facilitate space travel, nor owned the nav routes and navigators…you’re thinking of the space guild. Mind you, in your favor, you’ve bollocksed up my next question, but I’ll think of another one soon!
Okay so this is an even wilder guess than the first one. I’m guessing, just from how it sounds, that this is what they grow golems in. Either than or its that big tank that the wormy space navigator dude travels in. 😉
