News in New York is big, I mean BIG. I thought the movie anchor man was just a comedy but there is some fact to it. News is a tough business. Everywhere you go in New York there’s those news vans, and not just one – there will be a minimum of 5 at any one time. This of course means that TV is riddled with Breaking News and Latest News. Not sure if this depicts all of the USA?
So, is there more news here or is it a case that all countries have tons of news yet it’s all down to the hunger to be the best news channel that creates good news channels? I’m sure there are tons of news items in all countries, but the news here sounds very exciting and always here, you feel that you are surrounded at all times and that there is always something going down. But the one thing I will say, the news really has no cover of international events at all 😦 I suppose if they are drastic or remarkable then perhaps.
The latest thing all over the news is how allegedly Chris Brown and Rihanna (the umbrella girl) were driving back from somewhere when they started arguing, then the car stopped and they got out to argue more. Then Chris punched and bite Rihanna. She is currently in hospital and he is out on a $50,000 bail. All allegedly now of course.
So, do you feel that your countrys news is as competitve, exciting, or international?
I’ll go first 🙂 Ireland, no. Pretty much only 3 news providers, RTE, TV3 and TG4 (which is in Irish so no competition there). They do tend to cover International, maybe not as deep as the news that country has but enough to give you a good idea of what is going on. But the Breaking News feel really isn’t in the same league as the USA.
