I don’t think MS will ever get those estimates right … I’ve seen some file-copying estimated time to complete which increment as the file-copying progresses (at a snail’s pace) which would mean you could potentially reach an infinite amount of time before it’s completed (or would it ever).
In reality it wouldn’t complete because the OS wouldn’t be able to sustain itself for so long.
Aside, it’s good that guy didn’t label his F drive T – otherwise it would have looked like he’s copying from Downloads to T:\wat 😉
@Deems: That’s what I don’t understand about Microsoft; how can they continually get this algorithm wrong? Linux manages a pretty decent estimate of time remaining, as does OSX. IMHO, a company that can’t bother getting time estimates right doesn’t deserve to have their software used by me. Linux FTW!
